Things To Do In Destin On A Rainy Day
Destin, Florida, is all about beaches, sunshine, and the stunning Emerald Coast. But let’s be real — even we can’t escape the rain. We get those dreary, lazy days that make staying indoors feel pretty tempting.
Since Destin is such an outdoor haven, it can feel like a challenge to find fun things to do when the weather takes a turn.
Beach? Not today.
Water park? Nope.
Pool? Not happening.
Shopping? Ugh, that’s outdoors too.
I get it — it’s tough. That’s why today’s blog post is here to give you the inside scoop on what to do in Destin, even when the skies are grey.
Before we start, Here’s a bit about us…
At Travel Life Vacations, we specialize in providing premium, boutique-style management services, offering guests private, resort-style luxury homes ranging from 4 to 11 bedrooms. We pride ourselves on creating an oasis where you can truly escape from everyday life!
Traveling to Destin with pets? First-time visitor? Looking for a family fun itinerary? It’s all covered in our blog. We have many more tips for you to have a trip of a lifetime and enjoy the perfect Destin getaway.
MOVIE THEATERS
Classic and simple, but it never gets old. Being warm and cozy with some popcorn and nachos while it rains cats and dogs outside…. Yes, please.
We have two movie theaters in the Destin area.
Both of these theaters are great options. They are large, have raked/ bleacher-type seating, and are in convenient locations.
BLACK LIGHT MINI GOLF
Glow in the dark putt-putt is a real thing, and we have two options for you here in the Destin area!
#1: Destin Laser Tag has more than just mini golf. Check out their website.
#2: Rainforest Black Light Golf is all about the rainforest vibes, and also has an arcade, (which is my next topic of conversation).
ARCADES
Arcades are always a fun way to drain the kids’ energy, and bring out some friendly family competition. Destin has many arcades. I am going to list the largest, most popular ones here.
#1: Fat Daddy’s is an arcade and pizza restaurant. I would say they have one of the largest selections of games in the area.
#2: The Track is mostly known for their outdoor activities (I know, I know). But they also have a decent-sized arcade inside as well. Go check it out, maybe you’ll want to go back again when it’s sunny and take a spin on their go-karts, bumper boats, or sky flyer.
#3: Thrills Laser Tag & Arcade is located in Miramar beach. They have a decent selection of games, and a pretty impressive laser tag zone. They’re also located right next to an ice cream shop….. Just sayin’.
BOWLING
Another classic but goody. We have two bowling alleys in Destin.
#1: Hurricane Lanes is one of the few places around that also has a selection of pool tables available.
#2: Uncle Buck’s Fishbowl is unique because it is underwater themed. It’s very impressive inside, and very Destin-like.
TRAMPOLINE PARK
Trampoline parks are fun for the whole family, not just the kids. Plus, they’re great exercise! Destin only has one, but it’s a pretty good one.
#1: Urban Air has trampolines, foam pits, obstacle courses, an indoor zipline, and more.
BOOKSTORE
Last, but not least, is a good ole bookstore. It can be really relaxing and educational to take the family to the bookstore for a few hours. They have books (of course), magazines, and games and toys. I personally can’t go into a bookstore without finding something I want, even if it’s not a book.
#1: Barnes & Noble has a great, separated kids section.
#2: Books-A-Million
There you have it, a list of things to do in the Destin area when it’s raining outside.

Things To Do In Destin On A Rainy Day
Because Destin is so outdoors focused, it can seem difficult to find fun things to go do on a rainy day.
Beach – no go.
Water Park – nada.
Pool – nope.
Shopping!….. Wait, that’s outside too. Sigh.
I feel your pain. That’s why today’s blog post is all about giving you the 411 on things to do in Destin ….. Even when it’s raining.
